(ThePatriotSource.com)- Steve Bannon, the former White House adviser who was a key part of President Donald Trump’s original election campaign, has been charged by federal authorities over possible fraud relating to the “We Build the Wall” campaign efforts. Reports suggest that Biden and his colleagues may have defrauded donors to the tune of “hundreds of thousands of dollars” using money originally raised to build a wall on the southern U.S. border.
Brian Kolfage, Andrew Badolato, and Timothy Shea were also arrested as part of the investigation after the company raised more than $25 million dollars for its private wall project since it was announced at the beginning of 2019.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Officer of the Southern District of New York, every man arrested is charged with a count of conspiracy to commit money laundering, and a count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Every charge, should they be found guilty in a court of law, comes with a possible maximum prison sentence of 20 years.
Damn! Could it really be true?
If you don’t remember the project, it was designed to help President Trump with his efforts to build the wall because the Democrats have obstructed every attempt to secure federal funding to build it.
In an official press release, Acting U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss said that the defendants “defrauded hundreds of thousands of donors, capitalizing on their interest in funding a border wall to raise millions of dollars, under the false pretense that all of the money would be spent on construction.”
“While repeatedly assuring donors that Brian Kolfage, the founder and public face of We Build the Wall, would not be paid a cent, the defendants secretly schemed to pass hundreds of thousands of dollars to Kolfage, which he used to fund his lavish lifestyle.”
It’s not the first time that Kolfage has been accused of this. Last year, reports suggested that Kolfage bought an expensive yacht right around the time they were cashing out the funds for the project, but Kolfage and his colleagues insisted it was a private purchase.
Kolfage is a disabled veteran of the United States Airforce who worked closely with Steve Bannon to push the project and raise huge sums of money. Kolfage is alleged to have taken some $350,000 from the donor funds, and Bannon is accused of redirecting some $1 million in funds.
This is going to get messy.
