Trump Claims He Requested National Guard for Rally on 1/6
(UnitedVoice.com) – There has been a pervasive narrative on the Left since the January 6 incident on Capitol Hill that former President Donald Trump wanted it to happen. Media outlets have even said he refused to call in the National Guard. Recently, the former commander-in-chief debunked that rumor.
After his February 28 speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Trump called into Fox News to speak to Steve Hilton. He told the host that he tried to get 10,000 troops to attend the events that day before it took place but said “Capitol leaders” ignored his calls. He even said that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi was aware that he wanted the troops there to keep the peace. However, the former president says someone ultimately rejected his request because they were afraid of the “optics.”
BREAKING: Trump confirms he requested 10,000 National Guard troops for Jan 6 to defend the city. Says Capitol officials under Pelosi refused.

Trump didn’t say who the officials were that refused his requests but Pelosi is, in part, responsible for the security of the Capitol. So, at the very least, she could have fought to have the troops placed there. Instead, she and the other leaders did nothing and then had the audacity to impeach the president, making him the scapegoat…again.
