(ThePatriotSource.com) – Justin Bieber has had a wild teenage experience. Drugs, arrests, speeding cars, and hit singles. Now, he’s breaking free from the chaos in his life and talking about how he was saved by Jesus Christ.
Speaking to Zane Lowe from Apple Music, promoting his new album “Changes,” Bieber explained how he had found Christ and turned his life around.
“I really took a deep dive in my faith,” Bieber explained. “I believed in Jesus but I never really, like…when it says following Jesus is actually turning away from sin, and so there’s no, it talks about it in the Bible, there’s no faith without obedience.”
Bieber made it clear that this wasn’t a conversion, as he had already believed in Christ but hadn’t implemented his teachings in his life. Bieber said, during the interview, that finding Christ helped him turn his back on drugs, drinking, and one-night stands.
He discussed how he had seen bad examples of Christians and not considered the impact Chris could have on his life.
“I think it was my perception of who Jesus really was…I’d had really bad examples of Christians in my life, who would say one thing and do another, so they were my direct example of who Jesus was.”
Bieber’s experience is one that many others can relate to.
The young Canadian singer, who became a heartthrob at a young age with the release of pop singles like “Baby,” was raised by a Christian family.
“They way I look at God and my relationship with Jesus is I’m not trying to earn God’s love by doing good things…God has already loved me for who I am before I did anything to earn or deserve it. It’s a free gift by accepting Jesus, giving your life to him, and what he did is the gift. The forgiveness is the thing that we look at and we go, you know, I’m going to worship you, God, because you have me something so good.”
The full interview is incredible to watch, and perhaps not the kind of thing you would expect a young man with his background say. Wearing a full sweatsuit, a backwards baseball cap, and sporting a fashionable moustache, Bieber is an example of how even cool, young, and trendy artists can find direction with Christ.
