(ThePatriotSource.com)- Defying the well-established science which shows that children are substantially less likely than adults to develop serious symptoms of COVID-19, New York City officials this week announced that they would be shutting down the entire public school system. It comes as COVID-19 infection numbers begin to grow again in the city.
Writing to principals in the city, Chancellor Richard A. Carranza said that as of November 18, the City had “reached this threshold of test positivity citywide and, as a result, the DOE will temporarily close down all public school buildings for in-person learning, Thursday, November 19.”
In-person learning simply refers to going to school as normal. Children will be required to learn from home by sitting at computers all day.
“New York City has reached the 3% testing positivity 7-day average threshold,” New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said on Twitter.

We must fight back the second wave of COVID-19.

“Unfortunately, this means public school buildings will be closed as of tomorrow, Thursday Nov. 19, out of an abundance of caution.”
The radical move flies in the face of established science, despite Democrats suggesting that they believe in following the science when it comes to their COVID-19 response.
In September 2020, the largest study confirmed that children were significantly less likely to catch COVID-19 in the first place, as well as less likely to suffer from severe side effects.
“Our findings show children under 12 to 14 years appear significantly less likely to contract COVID-19 from infected others,” lead author of the study Professor Russel Viner said.
“This new data provides further essential evidence to governments around the world to inform their decision-making on keeping schools open during the pandemic,” he added.
So why, exactly, are Democrats not following the science and stopping children from attending school once again?
Governor Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill De Blasio have a lot to answer for on this.
