JUSTICE: Infected Texas Man Coughs on Woman, GETS ARRESTED

(ThePatriotSource.Com)- It’s easy to argue that arresting people for taking a leisurely drive is an overreach for the police during the coronavirus pandemic, but purposely coughing on somebody else when you believe you’re infected is definitely worth being arrested. And that’s exactly what happened in Fort Worth on Monday.

According to a Fort Worth Police statement, a man was arrested after coughing and spitting at a woman in a laundromat.

“On Monday, 04/06/2020, the Fort Worth Police Department was called to the 5800 block of South Hulen Street at a local laundromat in reference to a suspect intentionally coughing on people and claiming to have COVID-19,” the statement reads.

Fort Worth Police said that the victim then confronted the suspected, who was sleeping on the property at the time, and asked him to leave. After getting angry, the suspect coughed in the victim’s face while telling her he was infected with COVID-19.

“The victim said that the suspect then spat in her face and began attempting to cough on others before fleeing on foot,” the statement continued.

Police officers latest found the suspect, whose name is Jeffrey Smith, and arrested him. Smith was then taken to hospital as a precaution.

He was later charged with making a Terroristic Threat.

“The seriousness of the current COVID-19 crisis cannot be understated and any threat of using the virus, whether infected or not, will be vigorously investigated and appropriate law enforcement action will be taken,” the statement ended.

According to the New York Post, Smith was still in custody on Wednesday at the Tarrant County Correction Center. The spokesman for Fort Worth Police did not respond to a request for comment and did not specify whether Smith was tested for the virus.

This isn’t the first time that someone has been arrested for coughing and spitting during the coronavirus lockdown. On Monday, Fox Phoenix reported that a man was arrested for coughing on a gas pump handle in Yuma, while making reference to being infected with the coronavirus.

The 23-year-old intentionally coughed on the pump and was caught on video that was posted to social media.
