Is Kim Jon Un In ‘Grave Danger?’ Report Say Yes, But Who Knows The Truth

(ThePatriotSource.Com)- Is North Korea leader Kim Jong Un in “grave danger?”
That’s what U.S. intelligence agencies are monitoring following reports that he underwent a recent surgery. There are varying reports on Kim’s status, and some skeptics that he’s in trouble at all.
Kim missed the April 15 birthday celebration for his grandfather, which is what prompted speculation about his health.
Robert O’Brien, a National Security Adviser, said America is “keeping a close eye” on the reports, saying:
“We’re monitoring these reports very closely. As you know, North Korea is a very closed society.”
South Korea media outlet Daily NK, which is an online news source that focuses on North Korea, said Kim was receiving treatment after he underwent a cardiovascular procedure earlier in April. Daily NK cited a source who said Kim’s health has been deteriorating due to overwork, obesity and heavy smoking. The source said:
“My understanding is that he had been struggling (with cardiovascular problems) since last August, but it worsened after repeated visits to Mount Peaktu.
After a meeting of the Workers’ Party on April 11, Kim left for the hospital, according to the source. This is the last known public appearance Kim made.
The reports from Daily NK have been unable to be independently verified by major news outlets in the U.S., or even in South Korea, for that matter. This is because North Korea is a very closed, secretive society, and not many people from the outside have knowledge of the inner workings of the country.
U.S. officials are also speaking with experts on North Korea, particularly pertaining to contingency plans in case Kim were in grave danger. However, this wouldn’t be the first time that an absentee from Kim caused stir over his possible poor health.
Kim being absent from his grandfather’s birthday celebration has raised alarms, though. April 15 is North Korea’s most important holiday, as it celebrates the birth of the country’s father, Kim II Sung.
His absence doesn’t necessarily mean he isn’t doing well, though. As Bruce Klinger, a senior research fellow at the Heritage Foundation and a former CIA deputy division chief for North Korea, pointed out:
“There have been a number of recent rumors about Kim’s health (smoking, heart and brain). If Kim is hospitalized, it would explain why he wasn’t present on the important April 15th celebrations. But, over the years, there have been a number of false health rumors about Kim Jong-un or his father. We’ll have to wait and see.”
Back in 2008, Kim Jong II was absent from the country’s 60th anniversary celebration, which prompted concern about his health. It was later reported that he had a stroke. That ultimately was the first medical event in a decline before he died in 2011.
In 2014, Kim John Un wasn’t seen in public for a month. When he did re-appear, he had a cane, and it was revealed he had a cyst removed from his ankle.
