(ThePatriotSource.com)- Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein’s approval ratings have reached a new low.
According to a poll conducted by the University of California at Berkeley’s Institute of Governmental Studies, only 35% of voters in California approve of the way Feinstein has done her job representing them.
The poll, which was conducted online among more than 10,000 voters who are registered in the state, found that Feinstein had a 45% disapproval rating, with 20% of respondents saying they had no opinion on the matter.
Those numbers are the worst ever for Feinstein in that poll. Her ratings have consistently gone down recently, too. Just one month ago, her approval rating was 48%, compared to a disapproval rating of 37%.
Feinstein has been under attack by the left since October, because of her actions during the confirmation hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee for now Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett.
When the hearings concluded, Feinstein hugged Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who was the chair of the committee at that time. In remarks she made at the close of the trial, Feinstein said to Graham:
“Mr. Chairman, I just want to thank you. This has been one of the best Senate hearings that I’ve participated in, and I want to thank you for your fairness and the opportunity of going back and forth.
“It leaves one with a lot of hopes, a lot of questions and even some ideas of good bipartisan legislation we could put together to make this great country even better.”
Graham responded by saying:
“I know we have very different views about the judge and whether we should be doing this or not. But having said all that, to my Democratic colleagues, you have challenged the judge, you have challenged us, and I accept those challenges as being sincere and not personal.”
Late last year, The New Yorker magazine published a piece saying Feinstein is “seriously struggling” with a decline in her cognition.
Then, last month, Feinstein publicly offered to pay a fine for not promptly disclosing a stock purchase her husband made. Feinstein was also under scrutiny for stock activity in March 2019, when she sold off many stocks just before the stock market dropped at the start of the coronavirus pandemic here in the U.S.
In California, Feinstein got flack from Democrats in the state, since she supported now President Joe Biden in the Democratic primary over Kamala Harris, who then was a senator from her state.
Feinstein can take some solace from the results of the Berkeley poll, though. She’s not the only politician from California that voters don’t approve of. In fact, there are three other prominent politicians from the state whose disapproval ratings are higher than their approval ratings.
Those politicians are Los Angeles Mayor Democratic Eric Garcetti, with a 33% favorable rating compared to 35% unfavorable; Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, with a 30% favorable rating compared to 44% unfavorable; and Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom, with a 44% favorable rating compared to 49% unfavorable.
