(ThePatriotSource.com)- Democrats have been trying to take down Ted Cruz and flip Texas blue for years, and their most recent efforts involve trying to get the state’s senator to resign instead.
If you can’t beat him…ask him to step down instead?
After Cruz announced that he would object to the certification of the Electoral College vote on January 6, leftists lost their collective minds. Cruz was joined by roughly a dozen other senators, and when January 6 came and protests turned violent, Democrats immediately pounced on the Senator.
Texas Democratic representatives Joaquin Castro and Julian Castro both called on Cruz to resign following the small contingent of Trump supporters turning violent and ruining a day of peaceful protest.
“He has conducted himself shamelessly, and I think he has done this because he believes it’s the only way, the only chance that he has to win the Republican nomination for president,” Joaquin Castro theorized during an interview with the Texas Tribune.
Castro also said on January 7 on Twitter that someone on the Senate floor should ask Cruz for his resignation.
Someone on the Senate floor should ask for @SenTedCruz’s resignation tonight.

Ted Cruz and all other Republican legislators roundly condemned and criticized the violent protestors, many of whom have since been arrested. Cruz also only ever called for peaceful demonstrations and stressed that his objection to the Electoral College vote – something that Nancy Pelosi said was “democracy at work” in 2005 – was a measure to ensure that evidence of election fraud was shown to Congress.
For evidence of Pelosi supporting objection to the Electoral College vote, which Castro suggests is worthy of Cruz resigning, check the video below.
In 2005, Nancy Pelosi objected to the state of Ohio’s electoral votes. She called it “democracy at work” and “fundamental.”

Julian Castro called for Cruz’s resignation on Twitter too.

But why should he, when Cruz has been at the front of efforts to stop political violence, not just during the Black Lives Matter and Antifa riots but also during this brief period of violence at the pro-Trump rally on Wednesday.
Violence is always unacceptable. Even when passions run high.
Anyone engaged in violence—especially against law enforcement—should be fully prosecuted.
God bless the Capitol Police and the honorable men & women of law enforcement who show great courage keeping all of us safe.

It’s safe to say Cruz won’t be backing down to these people or resigning any time soon.
