(ThePatriotSource.com)- President Joe Biden’s petty reversals of Trump-era policies on immigration are not proving popular even among his own party, with a border city Democratic mayor begging the new president to reverse his catastrophic policy of releasing illegal aliens into the United States.
“I am pleading and requesting with you to please put a halt to any measures regarding the release of immigrants awaiting court dates into the city of Del Rio and surrounding areas,” said Bruno Lozano, the Mayor of Del Rio, Texas, in a recent video published online.
“We do not have the resources available to house and accommodate these migrants within our community,” he added.
The Democratic mayor appeared in a cap and layered winter clothes in the video, describing how the policy of releasing illegals into his city was causing chaos. He also explained that he would be forced to use extreme measures to refuse entry of migrants awaiting court dates if the president does not act.
“I will have no choice but to use the extreme measure under the emergency declaration as the Mayor of the City of Del Rio, Texas, to refuse the entry of migrants awaiting court dates,” he continued. “If you do send these individuals into our community, we will be forced to make a decision to leave them without resources through these dire circumstances.”
The city of Del Rio has 50,000 residents, and a recent influx of illegal aliens from Border Patrol has had a noticeable impact on the city. With winter storms bringing Texas to its knees, with millions of people without power, the situation is getting worse by the day.
Mayor Lozano expressed all the same concerns President Donald Trump and Republicans have warned about for years, explaining that cities do not have the resources to accommodate a massive influx of illegal aliens – not to mention that many of those who are released into the country are unlikely to ever appear for their court dates.
Releasing illegal migrants into the city, Lozano said, also undermines the Biden administration’s commitment to tackling COVID-19.
“I cannot mix the migrant population with Del Rio residents that are extremely vulnerable and have been displaced due to the extreme weather,” he said. “We may be a small town that is off of your radar, but we are a community of 50,000 people who need your attention.”
The Texas city’s mayor also asked the president to provide additional aid, saying that the city needs water, food supplies, and even medical supplies.
