Biden Says 15% of Americans are “NOT VERY GOOD PEOPLE”

( A pretty simple rule that any presidential candidate should follow is not telling a significant portion of the electorate that they are bad people. That’s reasonable, right? Well, Biden doesn’t think so. The presumptive Democratic presidential candidate said during an online discussion moderated by celebrity Don Cheadle that he believes up to 15% of Americans are “not very good people.”

Former Vice President Biden was discussing the concept of “racial equity” in politics, and accused President Donald Trump of being racially divisive. He claimed that, if he wins in November, he would heal the divides that Trump caused.

“The words a president says matter, so when a president stands up and divides people all the time, you’re going to get the worst of us to come out,” Biden said.

“Do we really think this is as good as we can be as a nation? I don’t think the vast majority of people think that,” he added. “There are probably anywhere from 10 to 15 percent of the people out there that are just not very good people, but that’s not who we are. The vast majority of the people are decent, and we have to appeal to that and we have to unite people – bring them together. Bring them together.”

The comments could well be Biden’s equivalent to the “deplorable” comment made by Hillary Clinton during the 2066 campaign. When Clinton couldn’t keep up with the torrent of memes coming her way, and the huge amount of support Trump enjoyed online, she said during a speech that “hlf of Trump’s supporters” are racists, bigots, and “deplorables.” That term became a campaigning point among Trump supporters, and one of the best-known lines from Clinton’s failed campaign.

Biden’s comments come just a couple of weeks after his own race scandal, after he told African American radio host Charlamagne tha God that anyone who can’t decide between him and Trump “ain’t Trump.”

To win the White House in November, Biden needs to win over the voters that Trump won over who previously voted for Obama. President Trump stood up for those voters, but Biden just told a huge section of them that they’re not very good people.

How does he expect to win?
