Beijing Wants MORE TIME to Prepare for Virus Origins Inquiry

( The Chinese Communist Party has consistently refused to allow foreign experts into the country to examine the circumstances of the outbreak of the virus, and now the country is calling calls for them to let experts in “premature.” China’s foreign ministry hit back at several first-world nations who are requesting access to examine the origins of the virus, and discover how it spread so quickly.

Zhao Lijian, a spokesman for the Chinese foreign ministry, claimed during a press briefing that despite the virus having killed almost a third of a million people across the world, the “vast majority” of countries recognize that the pandemic is not yet over and, therefore, any investigation in China is too soon.

As China continues to refuse to allow experts in, global governments are ramping up their attacks against the authoritarian communist nation. White House Trade Adviser Peter Navarro joined U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and President Donald Trump in speculating that China deliberately allowed the virus to spread across the country.

Navarro went as far as telling the media recently that, had China acted, the virus could have been contained in Wuhan city and not allowed to spread wildly across the world.

“China hid the virus behind the shield of the World Health Organization, and that was a time, Gerry, when that virus could have been contained in Wuhan,” he said during a Fox News segment. “Instead, what China did was put hundreds of thousands of Wuhanians and Chinese on planes that were allowed to go to Milan and New York and elsewhere, but not to Beijing and Shanghai.”

China is somehow managing to save face, and President Xi Jinping even appeared in public to give a speech during the opening ceremony of the World Health Assembly. This year, the World Health Organization’s annual conference took place online, and didn’t include Taiwan – even as an observer nation.

What does that mean? Well, it suggests China still has a significant level of influence over the United Nations grouping, and that Taiwan will continue to be ignored during the coronavirus pandemic despite being a shining example of how to handle a pandemic.

Only time will tell just how long China can continue to keep scientists out of the country, and even if they do, there is no certainty that any helpful evidence will remain in Wuhan, at the wet markets, or at the Wuhan Institute of Virology where the virus is believed to have originated.
