(ThePatriotSource.com)- Yet another poll has revealed that, should former President Donald Trump go ahead with rumored plans to start a new party, a massive section of the Republican Party would go with him.
This new CBS News poll, however, might be the scariest yet for the GOP establishment.
Some 70% of Republican respondents said that they would consider supporting the former president in his efforts to transform America’s political landscape, even after Trump committed to helping the Republicans take back the House in 2022.
Some 33% of Republicans who responded to the survey between February 5 and 8, said that they would join a new party led by former President Trump. A further 37% said that they “maybe” would join the party, leaving just 30% of Republicans saying they would stick with their current party.
And while it’s unlikely that a new party is on the cards, it should come as a wake-up call to anti-Trump Republicans that the old ways of doing things are not going to win over enough voters to win a national election ever again.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy met with former President Donald Trump at his Palm Beach Mar-a-Lago club on January 28, which resulted in Trump’s commitment to helping the Republican Party in the runup to the 2022 midterms…as well as a meltdown from anti-Trump Republicans who hoped the November election would force Trump out of the party.

Long-time anti-Trump “conservative” Bill Kristol heavily criticized the meeting on Twitter.
The CBS/YouGov poll also found that 46% of respondents identified as Republicans and said that they consider it “very important” for the party to remain loyal to President Trump. It also saw 71% of respondents say that it is disloyal for members of the Republican Party to vote to impeach the former president.
Now that the Senate impeachment hearing has ended, with the Senate voting to acquit former President Trump, the Republican Party faces a bitter battle for control between MAGA conservatives and anti-Trump Bill Kristol and Lincoln Project types.
And one side is already winning…
